Djanet
Djanet is the capital of this magical desert in the world; it is a charming oasis, boasting a palm grove; home to centuries-old Ksour and neighborhoods suspended above the Idjeriou wadi – the sea – where the Tuaregs live, some of whom are faithful to their lives. The name Djanet is this salutary remedy before the climb to Tassili. This adventurous and mysterious climb through steep and rugged paths – the tracks accessible to 4X4s end at the foot of the plateau – will enchant you. The diversity of guided tours allows you to explore the plateau on foot, passing through the necklace of rock stations, frescoes that tell the story of a civilization from the 6th to the 9th millennium.
